2018 Mazda CX 5 Review, Specs, Redesign, Release Date
Many car lovers talk a lot 2018 Mazda CX 5 and it will come out as the new generation after Mazda announced it at Los Angeles Auto Show in their official presentation. Mazda only provided one photo that is quite enough for us to know it a little bit. As you know, we have been waiting for several months with the camouflaged look for its prototype that has been spied and now, finally it is unveiled.
2018 Mazda CX 5 Changes
What we can see from the photo is the new 2018 Mazda CX 5 will use the design cues of the CX-9. There is a significant possibility for the company to provide it with the enhanced front bumper, slightly sharper headlights with the same front grille from the previous model. It seems that they will also provide the head and rear lights with modern LED technology. It does not necessary to come out with any changes especially for the dimension. They will support it with the compact spare wheel as well as 17-inch of aluminum alloy wheels.
The design will be improved to give some upgrades to the cabin design, but since the car is heavily camouflaged it is still hard to get close to it. 2018 Mazda CX 5 likely will not get drastic changes. It has ESC, ABS, side impact beams, airbags, low tire pressure warning and others.
2018 Mazda CX 5 Engine
It is assumed to use 2.0-liter petrol as well as 2.2-liter diesel to improve its gas emissions. The engine capabilities are also important to improve its fuel economy. However, likely they do not give any modifications, revisions and upgrades. It still goes with the same engine as before. The petrol engine above will be used for the base to generate 155 hp and 150 pound-feet of torque. It is mated to a six-speed manual with the FWD to provide 26 mpg in the city, 35 mpg on the highway as well as 29 mpg in combined. We can say that it is an impressive engine because it can cruise on the highway about 518 miles and 385 miles in the city. The second engine will be the more powerful inline four-cylinder petrol engine and 2.5 liters with the support of direct injection to work for 184 hp and 185 pounds-feet. It has six-speed auto transmission but the EPA rating is worse than the weaker engine. It has 32 mpg on the highway, 25 mpg in the city and 27 mpg combined. For diesel, there is 2.2 liter to work 148 hp with manual or auto six-speed gearbox for 2018 Mazda CX 5.
2018 Mazda CX 5 should go with the same price as the previous model which can be around $28,000 for the base. Its sale is expected to happen at the beginning of 2017 and the strong rivals will be Honda CR-V and Nissan Qashqai. All the complete information will be announced after LA Motor Show.
