2019 BMW X5 Redesign
The current model has been launched in 2013 and it is okay if you expect to stay with it for few more years but right now it is the main case since the car will share the underpinnings with the second generation that was released in 2007. After that, what we see is it has the same running gear, engines and chassis, no change at all around those parts. BMW aware about it and they have a plan for 2019 BMW X5 to change that. It will get a new platform with new engines and different package to offer. It will be a more refined and better SUV to drive to battle with other sports car.
2019 BMW X5 Changes
The biggest change for the new 2019 BMW X5 will be the platform. BMW wants to streamline their production process so they provide better overall look for this car. With the new CLAR or Cluster Architecture, it will use large amounts of aluminum for the chassis with some magnesium and carbon fiber. This can be helpful to drop a couple hundred pounds to make it more rigid than before. They will also improve the NVH levels which also forces them to add softer suspension system to make it more comfortable. For the size, it can be the same as before but the track width of the wheelbase can be larger. What we found from the prototype, it was wearing light camouflage with the identical front end to the 7 Series with its big grille-nostrils and similar profile as the previous model but with more conservative design. The rear has sportier design than before, thanks to the new rectangular exhausts and slimmer headlights. Likely, it will receive roof spoiler.
At the time of writing this report, the interior is the hardest part to find the data. It is only suggested by some reliable sources that the new X5 will get all new dashboard. BMW may provide it with the design cues from the 5 or 7 Series, but it sounds to get minimalist design as well as great materials.
2019 BMW X5 Engine
The current model has 4, 6 and 8 cylinder engines and it wouldn’t be changed for the new 2019 BMW X5. But, BMW will add two new engines. First is the smaller 2.0 liter turbocharged petrol engine to provide 250 hp and more than 250 lb-ft of torque. The base diesel has standard rear wheel drive. Second, there will be a new 3.0 liter turbocharged inline six-petrol engine. About the gearbox, it can be the revised eight-speed ZF automatic.
As far as we know, no official release date has been announced by the company to the public, but we believe that the best time to launch the new 2019 BMW X5 is in the beginning of 2018 as the 2019 model year. The price should be the same as the previous base model with the starting price around $55,000.
