The LS full-size sedan has been redesigned with the dramatic style to complete its flagship model. It wouldn’t go unnoticed and you could see it at 2017 North American International Auto Show in Detroit. It has new styling with significant departure from the previous model of 2018 Lexus LS 500. It has more understated design than ever.
The car will be dominated with its front end with the brand new spindle grille and they adjusted about different surface. The new 2018 Lexus LS 500 comes with long hood and redesigned grille. It also has flared front fenders flow to the front doors. Although it is about a half-inch lower compared to the predecessor, the new styling supports it to be much lower and there will be new arcing roofline to give coupe-like styling which quite popular as you could find around Audi A7 and Mercedes-Benz CLS-Class. But, it is quite different from the A7 with its traditional trunk opposed to the rear hatch. For the platform, it is a stretched version of the coupe’s which is 206 inches longer than the coupe. It goes with 123-inch of wheelbase that is an inch longer than the standard LS’s wheelbase.
Some significant changes will be added to complete the cabin. The popular instrument panel has analog gauges and there will be a single digital screen to show about most important information. To the right, there will be a sweeping dashboard with upper and lower section that is divided by sleek silver lines. For the shapes, the new 2018 Lexus LS 500 has much more organic compared to the previous model. The highlight will be the new interface that has Remote Touch Multimedia system. There is no mouse like controller on the center control since they will add laptop-style track-pad. The company explained that it is the latest version of Remote Touch with smartphone and handwriting design. It provides enough space for adults but the sleeker roof line may not give you a big space for headroom. Besides, the rear seat cushions are low to the floor which makes you perhaps in uncomfortable with the knees-up seating position.
What we have right now is the incomplete information for its engine department. Officially, there will be no old V8 engine to use. It will be replaced with their new 3.5 liter twin turbo V6 engine that is capable to provide about 415 hp and 443 pound-feet of torque. By using this engine, the new 2018 Lexus LS 500 is capable to work from 0 to 60 mph in just 4.5 seconds which is good enough since it is a large luxury sedan. It goes with ten-speed auto transmission.
2018 Lexus LS 500 is expected to come soon in the end of 2017 or in the beginning of 2018. If you don’t mind to spend about more than $50,000, you will get something better with wood and leather.
