2018 Rolls Royce Phantom
Several months ago, a surprising announcement made by Rolls-Royce that they was testing the all-new aluminum platform to complete all models of their cars for 2018 market. This new platform has aluminum space-frame to deliver better ride trademark. They also announced that they will soon testing mules and the first will be 2018 Rolls Royce Phantom. They claim that this change will support the car to deal with extreme weather conditions. It sounds reasonable when many spy photographers caught the testing performance in the snow with heavy camouflage.
As you see from the front end of this car, it is still under the development phase and it seems that the production is still far away. It can be seen from the missing driving lights below the headlights while the fascia has flat styling. The corner vents as well as the air dam is still missing in details. The front end is a bit taller so the hood has less of downward slant. Or, perhaps they did this camouflaged look to trick our eyes. For its sides, 2018 Rolls Royce Phantom has good looking with the traditional styling because the company carries over the doors, mirrors, body lines and glass. The rear deck lid is also designed just like a hatchback. It is hard to see the exhaust outlets but we must admit the pretty flat rear fascia is quite different from the current model. The notable change is the taillights at the rear with the new units. In short, we totally believe that all details are completely unfinished yet.
2018 Rolls Royce Phantom is hard to be seen for its cabin because everything is covered in black cloth but we think that they must give several modifications inside. The evolutionary design is possible which makes us cannot expect any radical changes especially for the styling cues. The technology department should be their prior with bigger screen, upgraded infotainment system, gesture control and LED ambient lighting. The instrument cluster will be completed with big LCD screen display for all information that driver needs.
For the engine side, it might come with V-12. As far as we know, the current is 6.7 liter to offer 453 Hp and 531 pound-feet of torque power. We expect that the company can break this out by providing a fantastic output that is close to 550 Hp and 600 pound-feet. The interesting part is that the weight-saving space-frame that can be helpful to offer higher acceleration. 2018 Rolls Royce Phantom is claimed to improve its current 5.7 seconds to reach 60 mph with 150 mph as the top speed.
It should come out sometime in 2017 or in the beginning of 2018 since the company doesn’t finish all the parts inside and outside totally. For the starting price, it can be about $417.000 for 2018 Rolls Royce Phantom because the mild increase with the new technology. To get the higher trim, you might spend even about $425,000.
